Nancy Sue Maloney

Nancy Sue Maloney, age 84, of Burnsville, passed away peacefully on 11/29/2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Orville and Grace Leona (Carney) Bookwalter; and sister, Marjorie Ann Bougetz. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Nancy was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Washburn High School in 1959 and St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1962. She served as a nurse in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. After completing her military service, Nancy remained in San Francisco to pursue advanced education in nursing at UC San Francisco. She returned to Minnesota in the late 1970s and worked as a Clinic Head Nurse at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center until her retirement in 1996. She spent the next several years working with the St. Mary Mission, Navaho Nations at Tohatchi, NM. About 10 years ago, Nancy returned to Minnesota to be closer to family. Per Nancy's request, there will be no service. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
