Nancy Masters, born on July 24, 1957, in Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave throughout her life. She was a vibrant soul who embraced life with open arms and a heart full of love, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Nancy's journey through life was characterized by both hard work and dedication. She proudly held various jobs, including a cherished role at University Flowers, where her outgoing personality shone brightly. A graduate of Seaman High School, class of 1976, she carried the spirit of her education and community into everything she did, always eager to be a part of something bigger.
Family was the cornerstone of Nancy's existence. She married her beloved husband, Daniel Thomas Masters, on May 20, 1976, in Topeka, and together they wove a beautiful tapestry of memories that included travel adventures and serene moments spent in their garden, where she cultivated both flowers and delicious vegetables, particularly her much-loved tomatoes. She deeply cherished her grandson, Tommy Faulkner and granddaughters, Bentlie Masters, Samantha Sheley, and Rebecca Sheley, holding each of them close to her heart. Her love for them was boundless, and she took immense joy in knowing and being actively involved in their lives.
Nancy's outgoing nature meant she was always there, wanting to be involved in family events and gatherings, bringing warmth and enthusiasm that radiated around her. If there was ever a gathering, you could count on Nancy to be there, possibly with a refreshing Coca-Cola in hand, sharing stories and laughter. She had an insatiable curiosity about her family's history and always made it her mission to stay connected, wanting to know everything about those she loved.
She leaves behind a loving family that includes her husband, Daniel; her son Danny (Billie) Masters; her daughter Stephanie (Tony) Sheley; her sister Ilene McKaig; her brother Lauren Myer; and her sister Gail Jones. Each member of her family carries with them pieces of her spirit, and they will hold her memory close as they continue to create their own stories, infused with Nancy's love and guidance.
Nancy joins her parents, Kenneth and Gertrude (Powell) Myer and her step-dad, Fred Cochrane, in eternal peace. Her legacy of love and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation, funeral service, and graveside service will be held on March 31, 2025, at Parker-Price & Davidson in Topeka. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with a graveside service to follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
As we gather to celebrate Nancy's life, let us remember the joy she brought to this world and the many ways she enriched our lives. Though she may have departed this earth, her spirit remains woven into the fabric of her family and friends, an everlasting reminder of the love she so generously bestowed upon them.
