NANCY J. MCATEE

1949-2025

Nancy J. McAtee, 76, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully after a life filled with kindness, devotion, and service. Born on March 8, 1949, in Youngstown to Frank and Ann Sakmar, Nancy was a 1967 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and later attended Youngstown Technology Institute.

She dedicated 35 years to Cold Metal Products as a data entry and computer operator, eventually becoming the supervisor of salaried payroll before retiring in 2008. Even after retirement, Nancy continued her commitment to helping others through her work with Goodwill Industries, where she brought warmth and compassion to everyone she met.

A devout Catholic, Nancy lived her faith with grace and humility, always ready with a kind word and helping hand. She married the love of her life, Edward McAtee, on April 24, 1971, and they shared 42 wonderful years together until his passing in 2013.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward, her parents Frank and Ann Sakmar, and her brother Richard Sakmar. She is survived by her cherished niece, Nancy Trolio, to whom she was especially close; and by her loving sisters-in-law: Robin Davis, Rebecca Bowers, and Suzanne Melia.

A special thank you is extended to her dear neighbor and friend, Jennifer Baun, whose companionship and support were a blessing to Nancy and her family.

Nancy's unwavering kindness, deep faith, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and remembered with love always.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 10:00am-11:00am at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44511 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am.
