Nancy Maureen McCullough, 89, of Mechanicsville, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospice/Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Graveside service: 12 p.m. Monday, February 9, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. A luncheon for family and friends will follow at the Christian Community Church in Mechanicsville.
Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Nancy was born July 25, 1936, in West Burlington, the daughter of Edward and Erma (Scheu) Elliott. She was united in marriage to Kenneth McCullough on May 8, 1955, in Burlington.
Nancy graduated from Burlington High School in 1954. She worked as an activities director at the Mechanicsville nursing home and as a cook at Cornell College and the University of Iowa. She enjoyed her plants, cooking, and spending time with friends and family, and was always there to help others.
Nancy is survived by her children, Craig (Gena) McCullough, Randy McCullough, Lynn (Bruce) Thumma, Stephen McCullough, Nicole (Randy) Dunkel, Kelly McCullough, and Heather (Ron) Spading; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary (Jim) Haberichter.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; her daughter, Laura McCullough; and her siblings, Bobby Elliott, Donna Hallbick, Muriel Ellison, and Joan Hertzler.
