Nancy Kay McDavid

McDAVID, NANCY K. (née Kay) of Waterford, formerly of Holly and Farmington Hills, passed peacefully surrounded by her family January 27, 2023 at 93 years of age. Loving wife of the late Fred H. "Hal" McDavid and the late Donald S. Nisbett; dear mother of Melissa (the late Bob) Huntoon, Geoff (Carrie) McDavid, and the late Kerry (Kevin) Lathrop; grandmother of 7; great grandmother of 3. Born in Evanston, IL, Nancy earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in sociology. But her love of decorating would take her down a different path. As an interior decorator specializing in draperies with Montgomery Wards, Nancy would venture out on her own in design with her own company, Nancy's Fancy. Nancy was a member of Holly Presbyterian Church, Holly and Community Presbyterian Church in Waterford. She was an active volunteer for the Clarkston Library, Clarkston Senior Center, and Waterford Senior Citizens. For years she and her daughter Melissa were basket weavers attending several conventions across the state. She will be dearly missed by her family and the many friends she made at Canterbury-on-the-Lake. Memorial Service Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. at Canterbury on the Lake-St. Luke's Chapel (5601 Hatchery Rd., Waterford). The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at COATS FUNERAL HOME, Waterford.
