Nancy A. McGilp

Nancy A. McGilp, a beloved wife, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on December 8, 2025, surrounded by the warmth of her family and friends. Nancy was born on August 18, 1950, in Kearney, NJ, where she later graduated from Wayne Valley High School. Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering kindness and her unique ability to make everyone feel loved and needed.

For 28 years, Nancy dedicated herself as an Executive Secretary for Union Camp paper products company in Wayne, NJ. Her career also included important roles at Mayer Textile Co. in Clifton, NJ, Nutratech in Fairfield, NJ, and she ultimately retired from Ethecial Pet Products in Bloomfield, NJ, where she continued to shine as an Executive Secretary.

With a bubbly personality and a generous spirit, Nancy found joy in every aspect of her life. She was a natural caregiver, expressing her affection not only to friends and family but also to those she encountered in her community, including public workers such as the garbagemen. Her love for animals, especially her cherished cats, reflected her nurturing nature.

Nancy's interests extended beyond her professional life; she had a  passion for photography, decorating and possessed impeccable handwriting. Friends and family alike enjoyed her delicious culinary creations, which brought people together and added joy to gatherings.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Scott, with whom she shared 25 wonderful years of marriage. She is also remembered fondly by her brother-in-law Brian McGilp and his wife, Colleen and their children, Joseph and  Cailin; her brother-in-law Kenny McGilp; her sister-in-law Lisa McGilp; her mother-in-law Helga McGilp; and her cousin John Popadak.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Emily Medvid, who surely welcomed her with open arms.

The memories of Nancy's kindness, generosity, and love will continue to embrace those who had the blessing of knowing her. A visitation will be held on December 11, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc. in Butler, NJ, followed by a funeral service on December 12, 2025, at 1PM. She will then be laid to rest at Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa, NJ.

As we say goodbye to Nancy, let us carry forward her spirit of love, compassion, and dedication in our lives, keeping her memory alive in our hearts.
