(nee Michaelsen) Born to Eternal Life May 20, 2025 at the age of 87 years. Loving wife of the late Marvin Mess. Loving mother of Diane (Richard) Clark, Debbie (Jim) Czerniak and Pam (Allen) Olson. Dear grandmother of Ellie Clark, Jenny Czerniak, Andrew and Justin (Taylor) Olson. Further survived by her sister Joan Wintersberger and many other sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Nancy was a devoted wife to Marvin for over 50 years. A loving mother and grandmother to her 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. She loved children and became a teacher and taught for more than 25 years. She began her own Christian education at Mt. Lebanon. She then attended the "Old" Wisconsin Lutheran High School. She then went on to attend DMLC to become a parochial school teacher, which she loved. She was called to teach before she graduated because of such great need. She taught various grades but loved kindergarten the most.
Her joy and purpose was in helping others. She volunteered at WLCC, Brown Deer School System and Brown Deer Senior Community Center. She gave rides to many of her elderly friends until her eyesight no longer allowed. She cherished all her friendships and kept them for many years, but also made many new friends throughout her life.
Her faith in Jesus was always most important to her which she passed onto others. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials for St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church Milwaukee, Loving Shepherd Milwaukee or St. Matthew Oconomowoc would be appreciated.
