Nancy Kaye Mott was born in Caruthersville, Missouri, on July 28, 1946. She was the daughter of Granvil Wolfe and Blanche Fondren Wolfe.

She departed this life in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on February 11, 2026. She was 79 years old.

On April 23, 1971, at the Nazarene Church in Caruthersville, she was united in marriage to Cletus Ray Mott. He preceded her in death.

Nancy worked for Drury Inn and retired from there after 30 years of service.

Nancy loved shopping and going out to eat. Her absolute favorite time of year was spring break when she was able to go with her family to Texas and meet her son Jeff for a week of fun.

Survived by – 1 son – Jeff Grissom and his fiancé, Leslie of San Angelo, TX.

1 daughter-in-law – Cindy Grissom

1 brother – Dean Wolfe and his wife Jean of Sequin, Washington.

6 grandchildren – Sarah Joe Sanders and her husband of Steele, MO; Ashley Grissom of Caruthersville, MO; Tyler and Karley Grissom of Kennett, MO; Brittany Grissom, Alyssa Tennell, and Kylie Kay of San Angelo, TX.

1 great granddaughter – Korey Jo Sanders of Steele, MO

1 very special adopted grandson – Juan Jose Phillips of Miami, FL.

1 very special adopted son Juan Phillips and his wife Alexandrea of Miami, FL.

And many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 son – Jerry "Mutt" Grissom, 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Memorial services will be Saturday, February 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the H.S. Smith Chapel with Brother Jim Pilcher officiating.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.

Nancy was the best person I ever hired at Drury Inn. She was the best desk clerk and the friendly person. More great compliments from guests and my supervisors. We had so much fun working together, I´ve got to many stories to tell. It would fill a book I´ve always thought of writing.
