Nancy Lee O'Brien Wickoren, 84, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Sunday, December, 24, 2023 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. Nancy was born June 4, 1939 in Fargo, ND to Esther Henjem O'Brien and James P. O'Brien. Nancy spent most of her young years in Delamere, ND and graduated from Delamere, ND High School in 1957.
Nancy was very creative. She loved to sew and was an avid gardener. Her flower gardens flourished in the North Dakota summers while other gardens withered in the sun. Nancy loved her job at Shotwell Floral in Fargo for many years. Nancy will be greatly remembered for her cooking and baking. She always had cakes and cookies to serve. Nancy was a long-time member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was very active in her parish.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Vern Wickoren, who she married in May of 2001 in Fargo North Dakota. She is also survived by her children, Brian Meyer, Steven (Christine) Meyer, Michelle (Mike) Pelligrino; grandchildren, Joanna, Steve, Jennifer and Connor; four great-grandchildren, Braedon, Shaelyn, Laighton, and Aerin; sisters, Beverly (Ev) Miller and Leanora Norgren; sister-in-law, Gloria O'Brien; and Vern's family: son, Bryan (Cheryl, Maddy, Emma, and Abby), son, Bob (Krista, Drew, and Parker).
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Melvin Halmrast; brothers, Robert O'Brien and Richard O'Brien; sisters, Patricia Murray and Dorothy Wilder.
Memorial Service: 11am, Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo, with a Visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Freeman Cemetery, McLeod, ND
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
