Nancy Parrish Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 4, 2025.
Nancy "Nan" Elizabeth (Pushard) Parrish, 78, of Middleburg, VA, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Nan was born in Portland, Maine, in January 1948. She was the daughter of Anna Gladys Garrett Pushard and King Sanborn Pushard. In the early years of her life, Nan lived in Belton, SC, and Houston, TX. She enjoyed spending summers with her cousins in Belton on the family farm. She attended Queens College (NC) and later the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a master's degree in early childhood education. There she met her husband of 54 years, Michael Frederick Parrish.
Nan and Michael would go on to live in Alexandria, VA, Darien, CT, and Middleburg, VA. Nan spent the majority of her career teaching elementary school in Loudoun County, but her greatest job was as mother to Elizabeth Parrish Floyd and Meredith Madison Parrish. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, visiting the beach, and spending time with friends and family who adored her.
Nan is survived by her husband, Michael, daughters, Meredith and Elizabeth, and Elizabeth's husband Chris Cole. She was preceded in death by her parents Gladys and King.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life on November 22nd at 2 pm at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Middleburg, VA. A short reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Nan's memory.
