Nancy Perez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Home - Navarre Chapel on Feb. 26, 2026.
Nancy Lou (Norton) Perez

January 14, 1953 - February 10, 2026

Nancy Lou (Norton) Perez passed away peacefully at her Gulf Breeze, Florida home on February 10, 2026, in her sleep, surrounded by her husband of nearly 55 years and her children.

A woman of deep faith, Nancy lived her life with love, humility, and quiet strength. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a trusted confidant to her family and friends - she was someone who many relied on for guidance and support at important moments in their lives. Nancy was someone people turned to in times of crisis. She was a loyal friend and a steady presence - often a second mom/sister/family to so many who needed one. She was funny, warm, and endlessly proud of her children and grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in watching them grow and succeed. Though she wished she could continue to experience all that was still to come alongside them, her love now watches over them always.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Nancy built a life centered on family and the values she held dear wherever she landed. She and Al shared homes in Northwest Indiana, Springboro, Ohio, and Trussville, Alabama, before settling into their own little paradise in Gulf Breeze. Wherever she lived, Nancy had a gift for making people feel at home and like family, whether they actually were or not. She truly never met a stranger!

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Edward Norton and Edna May (Dunn) Hagan; her brothers, Hugh Edward Norton, Jr. and Phillip Wayne Norton; and her dear sister, Rebecca Sue Witham.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Alejandro (Al) Perez; her children, Laura Perez, Dana Glick (Dan), and Michael Perez (Molly); and her cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Sylvia, Josie, Nance, Rainey, Tillie, and Georgie. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed by her love and guidance.

The Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Saint Sylvester Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be live streamed through the church's website and will become available shortly before the Mass begins. A celebration of life honoring Nancy will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's memory may be made to the Ciano Cancer Center at Gulf Breeze Hospital, in gratitude for the care and compassion shown to her and her family.

Words will never be enough to capture the special way Nancy made people feel seen, valued, and important. Nancy will be remembered for her wisdom, her humor, her steady guidance, and the deep love she gave so freely. She now rests in the peace and promise of eternal life.
