Nancy Lynn Phelps, born November 24, 1956, entered Heaven peacefully at the age of 69 on February 14, surrounded by her loving family and her special friend, BJ.
Nancy was a graduate of Parkland High School and dedicated many years of service as a magistrate at the Forsyth County Courthouse. She also worked as a clerk at several ABC stores, where she formed many lasting friendships.
She was a strong, independent woman who dearly loved her family and friends. Nancy had a joyful spirit and was known for her love of Mickey Mouse, her devotion to the Washington Redskins, and her enjoyment of watching The Young and the Restless.
She was saved through the bus ministry and was a longtime, faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church.
Nancy treasured her family deeply, especially her very special sister, Wendy; her beloved “Little Bits”; She is also survived by her brothers, Eddie Phelps and Randy (Karen) Phelps; her special niece Nichole (Lee) Bailey, her great nieces Miss Hollywood (Aubrey); and her Little Lily Bug. and many loving family members and special friends who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her Mother Ethel Hicks, her sister Teresa Shore and nephew Bobby Joe.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday evening, February 19, 2026, at Gospel Light Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 20, 2026, at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Brother Steve Roberson and Brother Frank Shumate officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send a card sharing your favorite memories of Nancy.
