Nancy Phillis

Nancy Jane Phillis age 86, of Dexter City, OH passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026 at her home. She was born September 5, 1939 in Guernsey County, OH, daughter of the late Cecil and Minnie Sanderson King.

She was a lifetime member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901 in Cambridge, OH. Nancy could often be found embroidering, crocheting, or reading a good book.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter Carla Horn; great-granddaughter Jaylen Renea Anne Hittle; brother Leonard King; sisters Leona Hrinko and Carolyn Carpenter.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Dale V. Phillis Sr., whom she married October 29, 1957; daughter Darla (Ray) Timberlake of Cambridge, OH; son Dale Phillis Jr. of Dexter City, OH; grandchildren Bethani (Robert) Welsh, Josh Phillis, Jason (Cindy) Timberlake, Nick (Carrie) Timberlake, and Cali (Zac) Miller; great-grandchildren Mable, Braxton, Damion, Dylon, Ella, Denae, Trystan, Harley, Joseph, and Kylie; great-great-grandchild Bryer; brother Carl King and his wife Elaine that Nancy called sister, of Cumberland, OH. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will conclude visitation Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Stephen Hannum officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiramsburg Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest near her beloved daughter Carla.
