Barbara E Thieman

Barbara E. Thieman age 88, of Waterford, OH passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Arbors at Marietta in Marietta, OH. She was born August 25, 1937 in Whipple, OH, daughter of the late Hayward and Bernice Rhodes Gerken.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Thieman whom she married January 18, 1957 and who passed away September 16, 1998; two infant sons Michael and Jeffery Thieman; brother Lonnie Gerken; daughter-in-law Regina Thieman; sisters-in-law Pat Thieman and Norma Thieman; brothers-in-law Tom Thieman, James Thieman, Bernard “Buzz” Thieman, Jerry Strahler, and Richard Thieman.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons Joe Thieman, Rick (Vicki) Thieman, and John Thieman; daughter Jennifer Anderson; grandchildren Austin Sciance, Ryan (Rachel) Thieman, Jeff (Kelsey) Thieman, Andrew Thieman, Alex (Karlie) Thieman, and Katelyn Anderson; great-grandson Bennett Thieman and two expectant great-granddaughters; brother John (Mary) Gerken; brother-in-law Eldon Miller; sisters-in-law Nancy Miller, Mary Lou Thieman, and Betty Strahler. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks for all the loving care offered to Barbara by the staff at the Arbors at Marietta and Buckeye Hospice.

Cremation will be observed. Inurnment will be held with a private graveside service at Saint John the Baptist Cemetery in Churchtown, OH, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Robert. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
