David Conrath Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCurdy Funeral Home - Beverly on Jan. 5, 2026.
David Ronald Conrath, 80, Waterford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, surrounded by family.

Dave Conrath was born on October 9, 1945, in Marietta, Ohio, to Forrest and Helen (Lloyd) Conrath. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1963 and Ohio University in 1971.

Dave found great purpose through education. He fostered lasting relationships with many of his students during his 43-year teaching career, working as an accounting professor at Washington State Community College. Dave was also dedicated to his Catholic faith. On Sundays, he could be found at St. Bernard Catholic Church where he was a eucharistic minister, lector, parish council member, and Sunday-school teacher.

Dave was also known for his love of flying, infectious smile and sense of humor, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He spent his summers traveling with his family, and his favorite locations included Lake Tahoe, NV â€" Bar Harbor, ME â€" and Glacier National Park. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his two young grandchildren.

He is survived by Ann Cecilia (Ginther) Conrath, his devoted wife of 51 years; his son Adam Christian Conrath (Ann M. Farmer); his grandchildren Caroline Elise Conrath (7) and Forrest Christian Conrath (5); his twin sister Christine Lee Del Deo (Vito) and sister Mary Jane Hartman (George); brother Dr. Forrest â€sCraigâ€t Conrath (Brooke); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Forrest Gilmore Conrath; mother Helen Louise (Lloyd) Conrath; and brother Dr. Douglas Lloyd Conrath.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, January 9, 2026, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly with Father Tim Kozak officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call between 4:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 pm on January 8, 2026.
