Nancy L. Pistorius

1942 - 2025

Nancy L. Pistorius, 82, of Chicora, went peacefully to be with the Lord late Wednesday evening, Sept. 24, 2025, at her home.
Nancy was born in Butler on Nov. 19, 1942. She was the daughter of the late James and Lillian Miller Paslawski.
She was a 1960 graduate of Fairview Township-Karns City High School, graduated from beauty school in Kittanning and had attended Butler County Community College. Nancy was a lifelong member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.
In her early years, she was employed at Russell Bennett photography studio and had been employed for nearly 20 years at Nationwide Insurance. Before retiring, she worked at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Nancy enjoyed being on her tablet, family vacation cruises and recruiting the grandkids and others to run with her in the Butler Road Race on Main Street. Nancy enjoyed the company of family and friends and she especially looked forward to Saturday night dinners at Millerstown Inn in Chicora. Nancy was very fond of her two dogs, Bentley and Holly.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Guy A. Pistorius, whom she married at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church on June 16, 1962. Nancy and Guy were among the last couples to be married in the old church.
Also surviving are three children, David J. Pistorius and his wife, Sherridyn, of Chicora, Darla R. Mathews and her fiancé, Michael McConnell, of Meridian, and Lori A. Andreassi and her husband, Steven, of Chicora; four grandchildren, Alex Mathews and his fiancée, Paige Cramer, Allison Vita and her husband, Joseph, and Livia and Julia Andreassi; a great-granddaughter, Cecilia Vita; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Stalker.
PISTORIUS - Friends of Nancy L. Pistorius, who died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 26, at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF CHICORA, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with the Rev. Matt McClain, pastor of St. Claire of Assisi Parish, officiating.
Interment will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
