Nancy Prahl, age 85 of Appleton, passed into the waiting arms of her Lord on Monday afternoon, December 11, 2017. Nancy was born in Kenosha on August 3, 1932, daughter of the late Jerrie and Eliza (Baird) Jones. She graduated from high school in Kenosha, and until the time of her marriage to Dennis Prahl in 1964, she worked as a traffic manager for MacWhyte Wire Rope Company in Kenosha. Later, after the family moved to Appleton, she worked as the laundry manager for the Best Western hotel in Appleton. Nancy was a longtime and faithful member of Riverview Lutheran Church in Appleton. Nancy enjoyed reading and cooking, and was an avid volunteer for many organizations. She is survived by her husband: Dennis Prahl of Appleton; a son: Dennis (Barbara) Prahl of Hastings-on-Hudson, New York; two grandchildren: Elizabeth and Christopher; and by Dennis’ siblings: Merlin (Joyce) Prahl of Weyauwega, Carol Vogel of Florida, Merrold (Mary) Prahl of Waupaca, and Bonnie (Keith) Schoenick of Florida. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, sisters-in-laws Norma (Louis) Drobneck and Geraldine (Joe) Hecht; and a brother-in-law: George Vogel. The Funeral Service for Nancy will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 18, 2017, at RIVERVIEW LUTHERAN CHURCH, 136 W. Seymour Street in Appleton, with Rev. Adam Bode officiating. Interment will take place at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials be directed to the Thierfelder Fund at Riverview Lutheran Church.
