Nancy Jo Preston

Nancy Jo Griffith Preston, 83, of Flemington, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at United Hospital Center following an extended illness. She was born on May 18, 1942, a daughter of the late Roy and Vandora Griffith.

Nancy is survived by her sister Joyce Ringer and is also preceded in death by her brother David Griffith. She is also survived by her children: one daughter, Kim Kaclik, three sons, Mark Preston and his wife Trish, Robert Preston and Debbie Ridgway, Jeff Preston and his wife Anne. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Charlie, Savannah, Zane, Rex, Berkeley, Nick, Zach, Andee, Taylor and Jackson; and a great-grandmother to Connor and Joley.

Nancy loved her family and took great pride in her home. She was an avid animal lover and cared for many pets throughout her life. She was especially fond of Teddy, Bailey, and her most recent companion, Bubs, who rarely left her side. In earlier years, Nancy enjoyed attending church, going line dancing, walking and exercising, and cheering on her children at sporting events.

She was employed by the Harrison County Board of Education, where she worked as a secretary at Liberty High School before retiring.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pam Stout, who provided exceptional care and companionship during the last few years of Nancy's life. Pam was not only a caregiver, but a dear and trusted friend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison County Humane Society or the Taylor County Humane Society.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, WV, on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 1-3 pm.
