Nancy Ola Coleman Prickett, 79, was born September 9, 1946, in Swainsboro, and passed away early Wednesday morning, March 18, 2026, at her residence in Wrens. Surrounded by her cherished family, she quietly entered into her eternity, leaving behind a legacy marked by devotion, independence, and warmth.

Nancy's early years were rooted in the Kite area, where she grew up before making the brave decision to leave school after the eighth grade to marry and begin her family. This new chapter brought her to the Wrens area, where she would make her lifelong home. Throughout her life, Nancy led a simple yet rich existence, characterized by her deep love for her family and her own strong, independent spirit. Known for her great sense of humor, she touched the lives of many through her warmth and kindness.

In her professional life, Nancy held several local jobs in Wrens and Waynesboro, including serving as a seamstress at JP Stevens in Louisville. Despite her varied employment, her principal priority remained firmly as a homemaker and mother, dedicating the majority of her time and energy to raising her children and nurturing her household.

Beyond her family and work, Nancy indulged in hobbies that brought her solace and enjoyment. In her younger years, she found great pleasure in fishing, a pastime that connected her to nature and peaceful moments. She was an avid solver of crossword puzzles and delighted in watching game shows and various murder-mystery programs on television, engaging her sharp mind and curiosity.

Nancy is survived by her beloved children, Larry Prickett, Lisa Prickett, Sam Prickett, and Ricky Prickett, whose lives she enriched immeasurably. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Brooke Wilcher, Jason Albea, Elizabeth Albea, Nicole Prickett, Katelynn Prickett, Leon Prickett, and Ricky Prickett Jr., along with sixteen great-grandchildren who carry forward her spirit. Her family circle also includes her brother, Jimmy Coleman, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who treasured her presence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Velt Prickett; her parents, Pincy Stapleton Coleman and Leon Coleman; her sister, Beulah Reese; and her brothers Ellis Coleman and Danny Coleman.

A visitation will be held from 12:00PM to 2:00PM Friday, March 20, 2026, at James Funeral Home. This will offer an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects and celebrate Nancy’s life. Following this, a graveside service will take place at 3:00PM at Mt. Moriah UMC Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Arrington officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers include Junior Coleman, Christian Prickett, Jamie Prickett, Leon Prickett, Terry Tanner and Steven Wilcher.

Nancy Ola Coleman Prickett’s life was one of dedication, resilience, and love. Those who knew her remember a woman who, despite challenges, maintained a joyful heart, a sharp wit, and an unshakable commitment to those she loved. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege of calling her family, friend, and neighbor.
