Nancy Larue Pryde (née Tucker) passed away peacefully at the age of 83 from natural causes on November 14, 2025, in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Nancy was born on October 27, 1942 in Palisades Park, NJ to Hubert and Blanche Tucker. She lived the majority of her childhood in Syosset - Long Island, NY before attending The Clara Maas School of Nursing of Belleville, NJ where she earned her RN (Registered Nurse) certification in 1964. She was introduced to her future husband Robert (Bob) Pryde by her older brother, Hubert (Lee) Tucker. Nancy and Bob married on June 13, 1964 shortly after he completed his overseas service in the U.S. Army.

Bob's career took them to Allentown, PA where their first two children Kelly and Ian were born in 1967 and 1968. Another job transfer in 1969 brought the young family to St. Charles County, Missouri. They ultimately settled in the small town of Wentzville in 1971. Their third child, James (Jim) was born in 1973.

Nancy's children appreciate the strong work ethic they learned from watching her every day as hard working mom. She balanced her demanding full-time nursing career while raising three children. She balanced late shifts, homework, teacher's conferences and last minute cupcakes for school events. Additionally, Nancy and her husband Bob were both great cooks, and ensured their children were comfortable in the kitchen. Nancy specialized in traditional and southern cooking; and made sure her children could make a proper pie crust, pan gravy, cornbread and steak & biscuit pie.

Nancy enjoyed a long, successful nursing career working in obstetrics and pediatrics; ultimately devoting the majority of her career to ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and Emergency Room/Trauma at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Charles, MO and eventually St. Joseph's Hospital in Wentzville, MO. Nancy retired in 2005 after a 40 year career and pursued new hobbies of birdwatching, gardening and nature photography.

Nancy is reunited in heaven with her husband Bob (2018), and her oldest son Ian (1999). She is survived by her daughter Kelly Barkey of Wildwood, MO her son Jim Pryde of Warrensburg, MO and well as her grandchildren Ian and Ben of Warrensburg, MO. She is also survived by her brothers Hubert Lee of Washington, NC and Larry of Jackson, MO.

We are grateful for the wonderful care she received at Delmar Gardens O'Fallon, MO and her hospice care team from Pathways Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to her favorite organization: The St Louis Audubon Society (https://stlouisaudubon.org /). We encourage our gardening friends and family to plant a few native wildflowers or a tulip bulb in her memory.

The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville.
