Nancy Quam Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thompson - Larson Funeral Home, Minot on Oct. 5, 2024.
Nancy Quam, 70, Minot, formerly of Surrey, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024, at Trinity Hospital.
Nancy was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1972. She attended 1 year of college at Minot State University.
Nancy was united in marriage to Merlyn Quam. To this union a daughter, Erin, was born. Erin passed away in August of 1987.
Nancy started employment in 1975 as a cashier at Osco Drug in Minot. Through years of loyalty and dedicated service, she progressed to a supervisor position. When Osco Drug was sold to CVS, Nancy transferred to CVS. She spent 44 years of her career within these 2 companies. She loved her job and developed lifelong friendships with many co-workers and customers.
Nancy enjoyed many hobbies. Amongst her talents were counted cross stitch projects, putting together puzzles as well as solving puzzles like Sudoku and crosswords. Nancy was an avid reader and an excellent scrabble player. In any board game, everyone wanted Nancy as a teammate, not an opponent.
She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. If those family and friends happened to have an animal or two for her to love on, so much the better.
Nancy was a very kind and loving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone in need.
Nancy retired in 2019 due to health problems. She remained in her own home until January of this year when she moved into Somerset Court. She and her mom were blessed to become next door neighbors.
After nearly 9 years of kidney dialysis, Nancy passed away with her loving mom and brother by her side. She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, daughter, father and two brothers, as well as numerous other family members.
Nancy is survived by her mother, Doris Olson, Minot. Brother Dean Olson, Surrey ND, Sister Dona Strube (Larry Blanton), Florence, Kentucky. Sister Bonnie (Marty) Worden, Jackson, Michigan. Nephew Cameron Olson, niece Leandra (Phillip) Hamilton. Special friend and companion, Don Strube. Sister-in-law Laurel Landers-Olson; great nieces and great nephews, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding her in death is her husband and daughter, Father Donald Olson, brothers Vernon and Darrell. Nephew Allan Olson.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the compassionate care Nancy received while a patient of the Kidney Dialysis Unit and Trinity Hospital.
Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church or Trinity Hospital kidney Dialysis Unit.
