On December 25, 1948, she married the love of her life, Rev. Wert Neal Renfro, and was a devoted preacher’s wife until his death in 1996. Together they welcomed two daughters, who survive, Darlene Pelham (Robert) and Kathy Mutter (Johnny), both of Glasgow. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jeremiah Mutter (Amanda) of Glasgow, Karalee Oldenkamp (Derek) of Florence, SC, Kasey Jo Doggett (Heath) of Bowling Green, and Josh Mutter (Morganne) of Glasgow; nine great grandchildren; brother, Bill Adams of Temple Hill; many beloved nieces and nephews; dear friend who was more like a sister, Bernice Shelton; and her caregiver and special friend, Ms. Betty Shannon.
Nancy was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, but also considered Beaver Creek Baptist, Cedar Cliff Baptist, Browders Chapel Baptist, and Caney Fork Baptist her church family. She was also a member of the Barren County Homemakers. Nancy was known for her beautiful quilting and sewing; she was so talented and sewed for so many. She loved cooking for her family, especially Sunday dinners when everyone was coming. Her life was spent as a farmer’s wife, also keeping a large garden of which, she was proud. Always thinking of others, her love and wisdom will be so greatly missed.
Services for Mrs. Renfro will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday beginning at 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM, and Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
