Nancy Ritchie Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rose Hill Funeral Home on Jan. 6, 2026.
Nancy Ritchie, 76, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Chicago, IL, to Harry and Clara Brzycki, she was the first daughter and was fondly referred to by her brothers as "The Queen."
Nancy met Thomas Ritchie at a dance party in the late 1960s, and they were married on August 22, 1970. Together they shared 55 years of marriage.
Nancy was devoted to her family. She was full of joy when she gathered them together to create memories, especially for milestones like their Colorado Mountain reunion. She loved to laugh and dance with her nephews at every wedding or family celebration. She loved to spend time crafting, decorating, and traveling. A talented floral designer, she created the bridal arrangements for several nieces and for her daughter, Lisa. Her travels took her across the United States to places including Mt. Rushmore, Acadia National Park, Nashville, Colorado, Seattle, Nevada and Canada. Family vacations were a priority for her, with trips to Kings Island being among her favorite memories; in her final months, she found great joy in sharing stories from each of these trips.
Nancy also loved her sweet pup, Callie. In the last years of her life, she enjoyed Callie and her mischief. She was very happy to spend her last days with Callie curled up with her.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Thomas; her daughter, Lisa; her siblings, Lenny (Mez) and Madeline; and her best friend, Diane Brzycki. She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Clara and her dear brothers, Jerry, Andrew, and Ricky.
The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday January 10, 2026 10:30-11:30 AM, at the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067 with a funeral service to follow.
