Nancy Moore Rowsey Obituary
Nancy Moore Rowsey peacefully departed this earthly realm on January 13, 2024 and transitioned to her eternal heavenly home. She leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering faith. Nancy was born on May 21, 1944, in Grenada, MS to the late Walter Moore and Margaret Moore. On May 1, 1966, she married John H Rowsey, and later gave birth to a son, Walt Rowsey, and a daughter, Kristin Rowsey Ferguson.
Nancy had an unconditional love for children and poured the gospel into them every chance she had. She was a homemaker and worked outside of the home as a bus driver, preschool teacher, Sunday school teacher, and spent most of her career as a preschool director at Playtask Early Learning Center and Bethesda United Methodist Church Preschool. She served at the Lawrenceville co-op and benevolence committees at Lilburn First Baptist. Nancy was a longtime member of Lilburn First Baptist and more recently a member of Hebron Baptist Church. She gave God the glory for all things in her life, both good and bad. She had a sweet spirit and lifted her family and friends up with prayers and beautiful handmade cards.
Nancy devoted her life to loving, not only her family and friends, but also to loving the Lord and seeking HIS guidance. She found joy in reading her Bible and going to Bible study with her friends. Nancy's greatest joy on earth was her grandchildren, Abbigail Hall and Reid Hall. She enjoyed cheering for them and the other children in their sports activities. They knew their Nana "love, love, loved" them completely. Nancy was very proud of her family. She battled both cancer and a stroke. Nancy would often say "the enemy can take my body, but my soul belongs to my savior."
Nancy will be greatly missed and will continue to be loved and remembered by her husband John Rowsey of Hoschton, GA; her children, Walt Rowsey of Carnesville, GA, and Kristin Rowsey Ferguson (John) Buford, GA; grandchildren, Abbigail Hall of Greenville, SC, Reid Hall, of Buford, GA; a sister, Frankie Baker of Olive Branch, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents and a sister; Margaret Hill (Sissy) of Grenada, MS.
Please share Nancy's deep love for children and donating to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.
