Nancy Jean Shankweiler, 76, of Nazareth, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Gracedale Nursing Home - Upper Nazareth Twp. She is the wife of Ray Shankweiler to whom she was married to for 56 years. Born in Nazareth, Nancy was a daughter of the late Lester and Carrie (Weiant) Fogel.
She took pride in her work and dedicated herself to providing for her family. Her passion for ceramics, painting, and baking reflected her creative spirit, and she found joy in simple pleasures like camping, picnics, and spending time outdoors, where her green thumb truly shone.
Nancy was known for her warm and welcoming nature, always ready to strike up a conversation with anyone she met. Her bubbly personality and compassionate heart endeared her to all who knew her, making her a treasured friend to many. She was a member of East Lawn and Nazareth Ladies Auxiliary, where she cultivated lasting friendships and shared her generous spirit.
Survivors: In addition to her husband, she will be missed by her children: Sherry Souder and her husband Patrick of Allentown, David Shankweiler and his wife Donna of Bethlehem; grandchildren: Katelynn, Abigail and Ryan; siblings: Raymond Fogel and his wife Janet of Easton;. Nancy is predeceased by siblings: Shirley Fogel, Nelson Fogel, Joan Eyer, Barbara Fogel, Robert Fogel, Patricia Fogel.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 3 PM at the Dryland U.C.C. - 4415 Newburg Rd, Nazareth, PA 18064. If you are able to attend, please RSVP to David or Sherry. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net. Arrangements and cremation care are by the the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC.
