John Chittick, 94 of Bath, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at his residence. Born July 13, 1931 in Belfast , N. Ireland, he was the son of the late Robert Chittick and the late Alice (Adams) Chittick. John was the husband of the late Sylvia (Ming) Chittick, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage before her passing in 2018.
John moved to the U.S. with his family in December of 1974. He started his textiles apprenticeship with James Mackie and Son's. He went on to work in the textiles industry as a V.P. of Sales for Kreamer and Martin Processing for a number of years, before starting his own business, Taratex Intl. He ran his business up until retiring in 1993. In his younger years he was a Master Mason of The Grand Lodge, N 513, of Ireland, and enjoyed cross country running with his running club. In his later years, John enjoyed wood working, creating many furniture pieces for family.
Survivors, daughter, G. Lesley Shambo of Northampton, PA, son, Clive Chittick and wife Tammy of Suwanee, GA, grandchildren, Richard Shambo and wife Amanda of Northampton, PA, Victoria Collins, and husband Chris, of Hampstead, NC, and Collin Shambo, of Northampton, PA, great-grandchildren Sterling and Briella Shambo, cousin Dorothy Chittick. He was predeceased by his wife, and son in law, Donald Shambo, Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 PM on Saturday March 7, 2026 at Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton, PA. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 PM up until the time of service. Future interment will be in Belfast, N. Ireland.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, care of the funeral home.
