David Chittick was born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital to Blair (Bud) Raymond Chittick and Thelma I Will-Chittick as a 2-minute younger twin with sister Deborah Chittick. David was a True Patriot, Proud Military Veteran of US Army 502nd Strike Brigade (Screaming Eagles) from July 1975 to July 1979; then enlisted in the US Air Force in 1982 assigned to 10th MAS C23A Sherpa Society stationed at Wurtsmith AFB Michigan and Zweibriicken Germany where his training as Communications & Navigation Systems technician earned him the highest praises from co-workers/commanders and provided him the skills needed for the next phase of life in the high tech industry after military career ended in 1992. In 1995 David fulfilled his childhood dream of living in Oregon where he excelled working for multiple companies for 28 years until retiring in 2023 from Thermo Fischer Scientific. He was known by neighbors and friends as the head of neighborhood watch, always willing to help, a fabulous cook and master storyteller with a flair for humor.
David leaves behind his loving wife Linda of 23 years; sisters Debi Chittick & Dawn Crosier; children Joseph & Robert Miley, April Chittick, plus nephew Justin Nelson and family. He will be forever missed by his stepchildren Jeffrey & Anthony Axtell, Melissa Melick and grandchildren Christopher McNinch, Sydney Hinze, Jacob & Joshua Hunt plus great grandson Zaid McNinch who all dearly loved their Papa Dave. A celebration of life will follow a military ceremony at Willamette National Cemetery in Happy Valley Oregon with date to be announced at a later time.
