Dorothy Chittick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McWilliams Funeral Home - Alpena on Jan. 16, 2025.
Dorothy Ann Chittick, a cherished soul known for her loving nature and zest for life, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, at her home in Lachine with her son at her side. Born on May 21, 1938, in Alpena, Dorothy's journey through life was marked by joy, resilience, and the warmth of her companionship.
Dorothy was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene and Leona (Samp) Smith. Her life was a testament to love and family, as she was a devoted mother to Vickie Lindle and family, James Davis and his family, and Glenn Davis. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Davis, her second husband, Barney Chittick, and her son, James Davis. Each relationship was nurtured with care, and her presence remains a guiding light in the lives of those she loved.
Professionally, Dorothy's career was characterized by dedication and service. She spent her working years at Boyne Products, Alpena Sporting Goods, and finally at Hunt Roofing, where she retired. Her colleagues remember her as a steadfast and friendly presence, someone who brought both diligence and warmth to the workplace.
Dorothy's interests were a reflection of her spirited and sociable personality. She was an avid card player, with Euchre being her game of choice. Her laughter often filled the room during Bunco nights with her girlfriends. Dorothy also enjoyed the thrill of the occasional casino visit and the simple pleasure of scratching off lottery tickets, hoping for a lucky surprise. Her love for these activities was only surpassed by the joy she found in spending time on her deck at Beaver Lake, watching the boats glide by and soaking in the beauty of nature.
Per her wishes Dorothy has been taken for cremation with no services planned at this time. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.
