Cecil Douglas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Springer and Son - Aloha Funeral Home & Crematory from Jan. 30 to Jan. 31, 2026.
At age 92, Cecil Henry Douglas, of Beaverton, Oregon, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Born in Arp, Texas on March 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Ade Jack Douglas and Emma Lee (McKenzie) Douglas. He was the youngest child of the family with an older sister Julia and two older brothers, Raymond and Eugene. All have preceded him in death. He's also preceded in death by his grandson, Troy David Fox III.

Cecil spent most of his youth in Houma, Louisiana and in his teens moved with his family to Bossier City. In 1951, Cecil graduated from Bossier City High School and immediately enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, where he served during the Korean War, 1951 – 1959. In 1957, his brother Eugene and future sister-in-law Marian set him up on a blind date and he met his future wife and the love of his life, Margaret Aden Glover.

Cecil and Margaret married on December 27, 1958, and moved to the Dallas, Texas area. Cecil started his career at Bell Helicopters, and eventually transitioned to Texas Instruments where he worked as a process engineer and was able to fully explore his love of electronics. This love and expertise would enable him to take on various positions and roles throughout his career and in his personal life.

In the early 70's Cecil and Margaret moved to Beaverton, Oregon, where Cecil went to work for Tektronix. They settled in the area with their family and became active members in; several local Baptist churches' – most recently Calvary Parkside. They also enjoyed exploring the Pacific Northwest, taking many family camping adventures and trips to the coast. Some of his favorite trips were spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cecil was an avid wood worker, loved westerns, playing dominos with the team at Calvary Baptist and rebuilding computers distributed to missionaries.

TO: Ms Margaret and Family of Cecil H. Douglas You rest assured, Cecil was a positive impact with his service in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. My wife (Jan) and I wish to extend our sincere sympathies and heartfelt condolences for your loss of Cecil. You should be very proud of his service and accomplishments in U. S. Air Force, which he served as a great/professional Airman. A true tribute to Jerry as a Loyal/professional Airman.
It is the "Airman"
In Honor to Cecil H. Douglas
U.S. Air Force
It´s the
AIRMAN,
not the pastor/preacher, who has given us freedom of religion and worship.
It´s the
AIRMAN,
not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It´s the
AIRMAN,
not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It´s the
AIRMAN,
not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble and demonstrate.
It´s the
AIRMAN,
not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It´s the
AIRMAN,
not the politician, who has given us the right to vote, ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It´s the
AIRMAN,
who salutes the Flag, who serves beneath the Flag and whose coffin is draped by the Flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag.

The World, USA, Louisiana and the Shreveport community are better places today because of Cecil´s service in the U.S. Airforce.

The American Airman does not train, serve, and fight because he hates who is in front of him; he trains, serves, and fights because he loves who is behind him.

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.
