Nancy Marie Shelton, 84, of Skipwith, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026. She was born November 20, 1941 and is the daughter of the late James Lee Morris and the late Grace Stanley Morris.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Welton Newcomb.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Alton Eugene Shelton; son, Steven “Stevie” Newcomb (Tammy) of Vinton, VA; daughter, Lisa Newcomb Browning of Mississippi; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her step-son, Alton Shelton (Angela) and their two sons. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Oliver of Salem, VA; brother, Jimmy Morris (Joyce) of Farmville, VA; and four nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Christian Church Cemetery, 4698 Fort Mitchell Drive, Chase City, Virginia 23924. Pastor Herman Newcomb will officiate.
