Nancy Sigler (nee Kish), 80, of Vermilion, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at her home.
Born July 28, 1945, in Lorain, Ohio, she had been a Vermilion resident since 1970. She graduated from Admiral King High School in 1963 and continued her education at the Northern Institute of Cosmetology and the Pittsburgh School for Advanced Hair Design.
Nancy enjoyed a successful 50-year career in cosmetology. She taught at Elyria Beauty Academy and Northern Institute of Cosmetology, where she was the youngest senior instructor. She worked at Revlon and later owned Coiffure's by Nancy Beauty Salon. She was proud of her profession and the many clients and students whose lives she touched throughout the years.
In 1979, she married her husband, Jim, and together they shared a passion for working field trial beagles. Nancy became an AKC field trial judge, one of the few women in Ohio to serve in that role at the time. She and Jim finished field champions and judged competitions. She was a life member of the Lorain County Beagle Club, serving on the Board of Directors and as Secretary-Treasurer for 35 years. Nancy also enjoyed antiques and selling at local markets, following in her mother's footsteps.
Above all, Nancy was known for her generous donations, kind, and loving heart. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and give to anyone in need.
She is survived by her daughter, Melanie (Todd) Clippinger; granddaughter, Renee; one son and his family; and her sister, Helen (Richard) Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” L. Sigler in 2015, and her parents, Louis and Julia Kish.
Honoring Nancy’s wishes, no public services will be held.
