Nancy Joan Stahmann

Nancy Joan Stahmann was born on Sept. 16, 1950 and left this world to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sept. 7, 2025, after a several years long battle with Parkinson's disease. She was never married but is survived by her siblings, Robert Stahmann, Cheryl Breon and Jane Thom- as, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of James R. and Margaret J. Stahmann.

Nancy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and and lived with her family in a suburb of the Twin Cities called Lauderdale. As a child she enjoyed games, Saturday morning cartoons and jumping into a deep winter snow bank. When she was 11, her family moved to Gainesville, Florida while her father attended the University of Florida and pursued his career.

Eventually the family moved to Hollywood, Florida where she graduated from McArthur High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. Her dad's new job at the Kennedy Space Center then mandated a move to Merritt Island but shortly after, Nancy moved back to Gainesville, where she worked at Santa Fe Community College as well as a local realtor. During that time she attended Crossroads Church of Christ. A few years went by and Nancy returned to Merritt Island to work at the Space Center as well. When her dad died in 1992, she and her mother once more returned to Gainesville where they lived together until her mom's passing in 2018. During those years Nancy worked as a data processing administrator for Nationwide Insurance until retirement. She was well-liked by co-workers. Her mother's house then sold in 2019 and Nan- cy lived in an apartment for about a year but the disease was getting the best of her, so in 2020 she made the move to Plantation Oaks Assisted Living in High Springs, Florida. She attended chapel services there as she was able. Due to the decline in her health, she was moved to Magnolia Ridge Rehab Center in 2025 as a long term care patient. Ultimately she passed away at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville.

While a teenager, Nancy enjoyed horses and frequently visited a local farm along with her sister Cheryl. As an adult, she took an interest in family genealogy. She spent many hours researching and recording family lineage, as well as accumulating as many old photos as were available. Along with her mom, Nancy sang with the Sweet Adelines music group for a short time. She enjoyed playing the piano, giving gifts to her nieces & nephews, and watching old TV shows. Bingo was the game of choice at Plantation Oaks. Pizza was her go-to dish, but she also enjoyed the salmon meal at at local restaurant, The Northwest Grille, a favorite of both Nancy and her mom. She now rests in peace and joy with her Savior.
