Nancy Strussion Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hart Funeral Home Inc on Oct. 2, 2024.
Fancy Nancy danced into the afterlife on September 29, 2024 singing, "Best believe I'm still bejeweled when I walk in the room, I can still make the whole place shimmer."
A true light for 77 years, Nancy M. Strussion lived most of her life in Murrysville, Pa., daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Woynik) Mish. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Eugene "Gene" Strussion, who she dressed so well.
A lifelong shopping pro, Nancy was constantly gifting the cutest things to her friends and family. But her true gift was her unwavering friendship. So many could fight over the title of Nancy's best friend, including her three daughters.
The fashionista was destined to be the mom of three girls. She taught them kindness and strength. She taught them to be selfless mothers. She taught them to sparkle.
No house better decorated, no grandkids more spoiled, no outfit unmatched from the shoes to the hat. To everyone's envy, our dancing queen lived on sweets yet was so petite. Maybe it fueled her colorful soul? Maybe we should all eat more cake.
Nancy is surrounded by love both here and in spirit. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Len Mish; and a son-in-law, Robb Hanrahan. Nancy is survived by three daughters, Stacey (Jeremy Hoffman) Hanrahan, Amber Caskin, Kylie (Billy) Ross; eight grandchildren who were the true joys of her life; Hannah and Vann Hanrahan, Hayley, Mackenzie, and Corinne Caskin, Charley, Blake, and Colette Ross. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Tonya Mish and a niece, Jaime (Dan) Kirk.
On Saturday, October 5, 2024 the family will receive friends from 2-4pm at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., 3103 Lillian Avenue, Murrysville, Pa. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at a later date with dancing, a cookie table and fabulous memories.

"Tonight the super trouper lights are gonna find me, shining like the sun... smiling, having fun... feeling like a number one."

Many years ago I groomed Fancy Nancy´s dogs. I must have always complimented her jewelry, and one day she said she had gotten some very good news and wanted to pay it forward. When she picked up her dogs she gave me the bracelet she was wearing. I still have it and I always think of her when I wear it.

Nancy's well-written obituary certainly describes her extraordinary Life. Nancy worked with my Mother, (Florence Friday), at Mine Safety for many years; and they shared a fun friendship, even though Nancy was much younger than my Mother. They went out to lunch frequently, and Nancy visited at our house. Nancy was very generous and kind, and her smile and personality sure lit-up any room. Her three daughters were the light and pride of her Life. I remember how she enclosed a beautiful photo of them inside of her Christmas Card every year. So pretty, and dressed so nicely. Nancy and I remained in-touch, even years after my Mother's passing. Nancy and Gene have much to be proud of. My heart aches for all of you. May each special memory shine in your hearts, and bring you peace.

Gene, this is the coolest obituary I´ve ever seen. She must have been a very fun person, wish I could have known her, and now I know why you´re always dressed so well!! I´m sure you´ll miss her terribly but take joy in all of the wonderful memories she must have left you. Prayers and hugs.

Nancy always had the most beautiful smile! She was a joy to talk to, her positive spirit shone from her sparking eyes. Our street has lost an icon. She will be missed by her neighbors and friends. I know I´ll never forget Nancy walking her 2 little white puppies past our house. Our thoughts and healing prayers go out to Gene and his loving family. Nancy - God bless you my friend. It was an honor to have known you!
