Nancy Tate Obituary


NANCY CAROL TATE, born September 10, 1946, formerly of Left Hand, WV, passed away in Richmond, VA on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Born in Amma, WV, she was the daughter of Ruth Parsons Payne and Cullie Payne, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mrs. Tate devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and attended Epling Chapel Baptist Church before moving to Richmond to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. Her faith and her community were meaningful and enduring parts of her life.
She enjoyed working outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her friends, family and grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph Tate; her daughters, Angela Frame (John) and Robin Spencer (Douglas); her grandchildren, Caroline Frame and Collin Spencer; and her Aunt Rita Huffman, of Clendenin, WV.
In accordance with the Nancy's wishes, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Nancy and her parents, Ruth and Cullie.
