Nancy Thompson of Birch Run, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Center. She was 80 years old. Nancy Railling was born on September 2, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Mervin James and Melissa Catherine (Henry) Railling. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School and a proud member of the National Honors Society. While in high school, her choir had the honor of singing at the Michigan State Capitol. In attendance at a wedding, she met the love of her life, Richard Thompson. They dated, fell in love, and were married on April 16, 1966, in Fosters, Michigan; he survives her. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Family made her heart happy and full. Nancy was a former member of Sheridan Road Baptist Church and a current and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport. She was an exceptional cook and baker, knowing the secret ingredient to all recipes was making it with love. Nancy enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles, and spending time with her cats.
