Nancy Tracy Obituary
Our beloved mother, Nancy Tracy, 84, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
She was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 28, 1941, to Donald and Josephine Conner. Nancy graduated from Howe High School and then attended Indiana Business College and although her favorite titles were "Mom" and "Grandma" she also enjoyed the titles of Payroll Specialist for BFI, bus driver for Mt. Vernon School district for many years, Child Support Specialist at the Hancock County Prosecutor's Office, and ultimately retired from the Hancock County Clerk's Office where she received an award for Outstanding Deputy Clerk for her years of service and dedication to the office.
Mom is survived by her son Wes (Barb) Tracy, son Michael Tracy, daughter Amy (Jeff) Cherry, and two of her very favorite people - her grandchildren Duncan and Ahna Cherry. She is also survived by her siblings Connie Aubrey, Donald Conner, Jr., and David Conner.
Mom enjoyed watching her son, Mike, bowl every Saturday for the Hancock County Special Olympics which he has participated in for over 50 years. She also enjoyed knitting and was excellent at it! She was part of the Knit Wits and knit many blankets that have been donated to various organizations. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports through their school years and as they got older she enjoyed their time together traveling, playing cards, and their many "pizza nights."
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor David Barnett will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
Memorial contributions can be made to Special Olympics Indiana, in honor of her amazing son, Mike. Contributions may be made by mail to 6200 Technology Center Drive, Suite 105 Indianapolis, IN 46278. Envelopes will be available at the mortuary.

I knew Nancy since our special sons were young. She was a dear friend.Through the years we shared stories with each other about them. I am so sad that she is gone. I was just thinking of texting her when I heard she had left for Heaven.Many prays for her children and grandchildren.
