Nancy Vanover 84, of Utica, Kentucky passed away Monday, March, 31 at her home in Utica. Nancy Lee Abney was born July 25, 1940 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Alney and Nora Celeste Crabtree Abney and was married to Hubert Gerald Vanover on December 31, 1960.
Nancy was a homemaker, a farmer's wife, and a member of Calhoun Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with both her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Gerald Vanover, who died April 18, 1999; by a brother, Henry Abney; and by her sister, Ruth Hayes.
Nancy is survived by three sons, Dennis Vanover (Sheryl) of Glenville, Mitch Vanover (Sonja) of Rumsey, and Pat Vanover (Susie) of Utica; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jessie Abney (Mona) of Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Nancy's family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 9:00 A.M. till 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Musters in Calhoun.
The Nancy Vanover family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Calhoun Cemetery, Iron Fence Restoration Fund; C/O John Howard; 400 Guy Settle Loop; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327.
Nancy's services will be streamed live on musterfuneralhomes.com at 10:00 A.M. Thursday.
