Nancy Louise (Huber) Vant, 87, of Caro passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 9, 2025, at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. Nancy was born on July 16, 1938, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Carl and Grace (Zellar) Huber, and was a 1956 graduate of Jefferson Union High School. After high school Nancy worked in administration for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington DC. It was in DC that she met Ronald Wooster and the pair would soon marry, bringing into the world their beloved son Timothy who treasures their memory. Ronald preceded her in death in September of 1988. Nancy was most well-known for her work for the Village of Caro. She spent over 30 years as the village Clerk and oversaw all the numerous changes Caro went through in its recent history. Nancy was active in her community and faithfully attended St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild and played handbells. She spent her free time as a social butterfly; if you put her in a room full of strangers she would come out with two or three new friends. She was outgoing, loving, and colorful, with a fierce and competitive love for card games of any kind. Nancy also took to riding motorcycles around town with her great friend Eugene Davison in her later years and is remembered as being an amazing home cook and host.
Nancy is survived by her son Timothy (Susan) Wooster, many step-grandchildren, brother Ed (Sharon) Huber, and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and countless friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by husbands Ronald Wooster, Wes Frederick, and Bert Vant, as well as brothers Carl (Barb) Huber and Bob (Jane) Huber.
A funeral service for Nancy will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Ransford Funeral Home, 205 W. Sherman St. Caro, MI. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 3:00pm until the time of service, with cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elf Khurafeh Shrine.
