Nancy Jean Varney, age 87 of Glen Mills, PA passed away on February 7, 2024 at Rose Court at Maris Grove. Born in Oceanside, NY, Nancy resided for the past 11 years in the Maris Grove community, previously residing in York, PA and Rockville, MD. Nancy worked as a Medical Lab Technician for 8 years, retiring in 1986. She was a former member of Millian Memorial United Methodist Church in Rockville, MD, and a present member of Aldersgate Church in York, PA. Nancy and her husband Bud owned and operated their own antiques and furniture refinishing business. Nancy enjoyed refinishing furniture, and genealogy, and in her earlier years, she was a den mother for the Cub Scouts. As a Rockville, Maryland resident, Nancy at one time was a Washington Redskins fan. In addition to her parents, Eugene Charles and Helen Mae Post Epple, Nancy is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey W. Varney who passed in 1996. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Clarence E. Varney, son, Gary Varney and his wife, Wendy Wallace, a daughter-in-law, Suzie Varney Lovett and her husband, Pastor Rob Lovett, 5 grandchildren, Olivia (Jon) Plunkett, Chelsea Varney (Nathan Brinling), Donovan Varney (Ashley), Robert Varney and Adeline Varney and two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Lucas Plunkett. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 23rd, from 10-11AM at the Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA, followed by a Memorial Service at 11AM. Interment will be held privately at Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, NY. Donations in her memory may be made to Maris Grove Resident Care Fund, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342.
