Nancy Walsh Obituary

Walsh, Nancy 8/20/1926 - 12/15/2022 Nancy was born to Jay A and Florence (Culverwell) Walsh of Detroit and Birmingham, Michigan. She resided in Detroit, Birmingham, Rochester, and most recently, in Grand Rapids, MI. After graduating high school and one year in secretarial school, she worked in the insurance business; then landed her "dream job" with McManus, John & Adams Advertising Company, Bloomfield Hills. Working her way up to the executive secretary to the president and retiring after 30+ years. Nancy always looked forward to her yearly trips abroad and her routine jaunts around the Great Lakes regions and Canada, where as a child she spent summers at the family cottage on Lake Erie. Many years were spent donating her time to the Rochester Community Library, Leader Dogs for the Blind, and O.P.C. Preceding her in death were her parents, and siblings, Jay A. Jr, Harry C., Walter H. and Margaret E. (Savage). Nancy is survived by nieces Carol (Rick) Godfrey of Grand Rapids, MI and Lynn (Bob) Dodge of Lafayette, CO, as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held after the holidays. "The heart pays tribute in many ways- with sadness, with warm memories, with celebration." In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Nancy's memory to Clark Retirement Community Benevolent Fund, 1551 Franklin St. SE Grand Rapids MI 49506, or to Emmanuel Hospice 401 Hall St. SW Grand Rapids MI 49503. Both served her well.
