A funeral service for Nancy Kathryn Watson, 79, of Denton, is scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, March 27, 2026 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Kremling and Rev. Ralph James officiating. The burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Nancy was a mother, a grand and great-grandmother, a sister, aunt and cousin, but mostly, she was this incredibly talented, caring and loving woman who would do anything for anyone. Her number one priority was always tending to the welfare of others. These traits among others led her to choose a career in Nursing.
Nancy loved playing the piano at home and in church. She cherished time well spent with her large family of her 9 kids, her 7 siblings and countless other close relatives and good friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her mother Callie Watson, father Joseph Watson, mother Laverne Watson, brother David Watson, son Gary Cotton, and her daughter Ruth Nicole Young.
Nancy is survived by her sisters Karen Styles, Linda Cotton and husband Clyde, Lanita Drake and husband David; brothers Robert Watson and wife Rena, Chris Watson and wife Mary. She is also survived by her children Benjamin Cotton and wife Yoko, Penny Cotton, Donald Cotton, Ruby Van Zandt and husband Christopher, Samuel Negus and wife Laura, Jeremiah Negus, and Brian Grayson. Survivors also include her countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
