Nancy Diane Williams, of Rustburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. She was born in Hopewell, VA, on January 28, 1957, a daughter of the late Charles Landrey Mclean and Katherine Johnson Mclean.
Growing up, Nancy attended Fort Hill School and graduated from E.C. Glass High School, class of 1975. Upon completing high school, Nancy went on to obtain an Associates of Applied Science degree, and lab tech certifications from both CVCC and UVA along with a Certificate in General Insurance from the Insurance Institute of America. Nancy’s professional career was as varied as her interests. She worked at Campbell Insurance and later Scott Insurance for years as a cowriter. After leaving the world of insurance, Nancy went on to work for CVFP for over a decade. When Nancy wasn’t working, she enjoyed spending time with her son, grandchildren, baking, working in the yard, and in her flower garden.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Bob Williams; and one brother, Landrey Mclean.
Nancy is survived by her son, Charlie Williams; two granddaughters, Skylar and Brianna; one grandson, Dylan (Heather); two great grandchildren, Aubree Boyett and Kasen Moody; three sisters, Karen Martinez, Beth Dickson, and Tricia Tomlin; one brother, Donald Mclean; and very special friends and neighbors, Vernon and June Elam.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg.
