Nancy Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 26, 2025.
Nancy Kay Williams, age 86, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2025. She was born on October 3rd, 1938 in Windber, Pennsylvania to Russell Berkey and Fannie Berkey. She trained and worked as a registered nurse, before marrying her husband Ralph and starting her beloved family in Wheaton, Maryland.

Nancy was a cherished mother, sister, cousin, grandmother, and friend. She adored animals both large and small, anything angel-related, and getting together with family. She enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and family, bowling, watching basketball, reading, word puzzles, and taking care of others. She was a caring and intelligent woman who was strong in her faith, and would have done anything for those she loved. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew her.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Fannie Berkey; her husband, Ralph Williams; her daughters, Jan Williams and Jeane Kennedy; her brothers, Dennis and Ronald Berkey; her cousin, Jack Sherwin; and her nieces, Beth Berkey and Kimberly Betz. She is survived by her son, Scott Williams; her grandchildren, Brandon Shaw, Thomas Shaw, Janelle Kennedy, Denise Robinson, Stephen Kennedy, Ruth Kennedy, Nathanael Kennedy, Olivia Williams, and Anna Williams; her great-grandchildren, Landin Williams, Isabella Shaw, Amelia Shaw, and William Shaw; her cousin Sue Sherwin; and various extended family and their children and spouses. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and a love for learning.

The family will be hosting a small memorial event privately. In lieu of flowers or a public service, donations can be made to one of Nancy's favorite organizations in life: the World Wildlife Fund, under the "Donate" tab at worldwildlife.org.
