Nancy Zuber Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 30, 2025.
Nancy Lee Zuber (Swanson), age 78, of St. Louis Park, MN passed away on July 24th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Nancy was born May 31st, 1947 in St. Louis Park. Preceded in death by parents Clarence and Tennys (Neitzel) Swanson. She is survived by her husband Chan; children Jaim (Cynthia), and Nicole (Scott); grandchildren Celine, Zachary (Rebekah), and Kendra; and great grandchildren Travis, Cassie, and Lily. Nancy lived in St. Louis Park her entire life. She grew up on Quebec Avenue with a close-knit circle of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins living on the same block. Nancy graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1965 and the University of Minnesota in 1969, where she met her husband, Chan. He was swept away by Nancy's beauty the moment they met at her freshman dance. They were married 58 years. In 2001, Nancy earned her master's degree in Special Education from Hamline University. A devoted educator, she dedicated her life to helping children with special needs learn to read. She also served as Head of Children's Ministry at Zion Lutheran Church and continued working as a reading tutor until her final days. Nancy had many passions. She loved ballet, developed a deep appreciation for Italian art, and traveled to Italy often in her later years. Above all, her greatest joy was her family. Especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she and Chan visited frequently in Charleston, South Carolina. An exceptional hostess, Nancy took great pride in entertaining. Her table was always set with her finest china, polished silverware, and fresh flowers from the farmer's market. Desserts were lovingly baked by her or selected from her favorite bakery. The funeral will be Friday, August 1st at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Hopkins, MN. Visitation at 10. Lunch following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. Zion Lutheran is located at 241 5th Ave N, Hopkins, MN 55343
