Mr. Nane Nathan Coleman, 62, of Swainsboro passed away on the morning of Thursday, February 5, 2026, at East Georgia Regional of Statesboro, Georgia, He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, daddy, and checker player as he was affectionately called. Mr. Nathan Coleman was a native of Swainsboro, Georgia, where he was born to the late Mr. Green Coleman and Mrs. Udell Ricks-Coleman. He graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1984. He retired from Trane Co. as a Fin Press Operator, where he worked for 15 years. He also spent many years at Ropers and Electrolux.

Nane was caring, outgoing, outspoken person, he was a teacher to all his children, nieces, and nephews when it came to learning how to drive, play checkers, clean a car, cook, work hard for whatever you want. Nane could be found daily either playing checkers on the porch after work and on weekends or playing those slot machines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Green and Udell Ricks-Coleman; one sister Mamie Lou Coleman-Bryant; four brothers Ray Lee Thomas, James Lee Ricks, Willie Coleman, and Moses Coleman; two nieces Shamika Coleman, Victoria Ricks; three nephews Kelsey (Joe) Parrish, Jaworski Lee Ricks, Rusty Ricks.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 33 years Lenett Sapp-Coleman; one daughter Sierra Coleman of Swainsboro, GA; three sons Nane Nathan Coleman Jr of Swainsboro, GA, Joey Smith Garfield, GA, Zay Pinkey, New York; two grandchildren Madison Coleman and Noah Pinkey. One sister Mary Ruth Coleman; one brother Ralph Williams; two sisters in law; Jennifer Sapp of Swainsboro, GA, Peggy (Harvey) Washington; two brothers in law; Jeffery (Tamika) Sapp of Twin City, GA and Scottie (Toya) Sapp of Twin City, GA. A Host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in chapel of Chapman Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Chapman Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in Swainsboro City Cemetery.

The family will be gathering at the residence of Nane Nathan Coleman, Jr., 532 Old Nunez Road, Swainsboro Georgia
