Nannie Belle Turner Ebert, gently left us on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in New Braunfels, Texas. Nannie or Nan, as everyone lovingly called her, was born in Bedias, Texas, to Thomas and Mary Turner, on February 13, 1937.
Nan had many passions in life. Her first and most committed devotion was to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Nan was involved in organizing the original fellowship of the church of the Nazarene here in New Braunfels and proudly served her Lord there for over 50 years. Nan served in many capacities at her church, the First Church of the Nazerene, with joy, purpose and an unwavering commitment. She loved supporting the many missions at the church. One of her favorite was the childrens organizations. She loved having the opportunity to invest in the children to enrich their knowledge and love for Christ. Nan was a school bus driver for nearly 40 years and loved the opportunity of engaging and transporting the children daily to and from school and various sports events. Every year before school would start, Nan would go to the parents of the children on her bus route to keep them involved in their expectations while in her care. She thoroughly loved this job, it was one of her passions. Nan also managed Gruene River Co. for several years. She loved meeting the people from all over the United States who would come to enjoy the peaceful serenity of the Guadalupe river. She had the strength of an ox, but a heart the size of Texas. Nan was a proud grandmother to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She proudly loved and cared for each of them. Being the Christian she was, she encouraged her commitment to Christ in each one of them. Involving them in every church activity possible. While Nans health deteriorated, her Faith in her Lord never waivered. She was a blessing to the many she new and loved all the many that she fellow-shipped with. Be sure in Christ, that Nan is now fellow-shipping with the many in Heaven and watching over the rest of us here on earth. She will be missed dearly, but thought of often.
Nan was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Turner, her mother Mary Turner and brothers and sister, Shirley Garrett, Tommy Turner, Jimmy Turner and Joe Turner. Nan was survived in death by her children, Brenda Heinsohn and Steve, children and grandchildren, Cindy Seidel and Kevin, their children and grandchildren, Karen Fielder and Bryan, children and grandchildren and Lisa Mitchell and James, children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 am, at New Braunfels Church of the Nazarene 210 W. Klein Rd., New Braunfels, Texas 78130. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Nannie, please visit our floral store.
