Napoleon Bousquet Obituary

Napoleon "Paul" Henry Bousquet
Napoleon "Paul" Henry Bousquet, 92, of Middletown, beloved husband of the late Helen (LoGuidice) Bousquet, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. He spent his last days doing what he loved most, being at the center of the family he created, listening to the laughs, stories and the little footsteps of his great-grandchildren running around. Paul was born in Lowell, Vermont, he was the son of the late Azarias and Gladys (Nadeau Snyder) Bousquet. Paul grew up in Vermont, moved to New Haven and then settled in Middletown, where he lived the rest of his life and grew his family. He was a longtime member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church. Paul served in the United States Army during the Korean War, earning the rank of Corporal and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was the owner and CEO of Mid-Town Tire in Hartford. Anyone who was lucky enough to have known Paul would undoubtedly describe him, in the simplest terms, as a good man. And he certainly was. He was always there to offer a helping hand and words of wisdom, of which he had many. His legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the generations he leaves behind. His family will forever remember him for his patient spirit, authenticity, unwavering support, and warm smile. Paul was always smiling, lighting up any room he entered. He was one of the hardest, most disciplined workers you'd ever met, and he valued work ethic above almost anything else. He created and ran an extremely successful business, Mid-Town Tire, for many years, which he took so much pride in. The one thing that he valued more than work was family. He adored his wife, Helen, more than words could describe, and we cannot fathom how happy he must be to see her after almost 6 years apart. Paul was the very best father and grandfather. He was so involved in his grandchildren's lives, attending every single event. He made sure his children and each of his grandchildren felt deeply valued, and he took immense pride in watching them grow and thrive. He loved a good party, always looking for a reason to celebrate. He never missed a thing. One of his greatest prides and joys was his great-grandchildren, who called him "Grampy"; he was so proud to be a Grampy. His three great-grandchildren absolutely treasure him and will miss him greatly. Though we deeply mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that his love will continue to guide us, and his memory will live on in the hearts and spirits of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Paul is survived by his son, Brian Bousquet of Florida; his daughter, Renea DiCicco and her husband James of Middletown; three grandchildren, Ryan Bousquet, Chelsea Sperandeo and her husband Chris and Carly Liriano and her husband Anthony; three great-grandchildren, Grace and Quinn Sperandeo and Luca Liriano; and his sister-in-law Gloria Tringali. Along with his wife and parents, Paul was predeceased by twelve siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 15th, at 10:00 am at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 10 Elm Street, Middletown. A burial will follow in Saint Sebastian Cemetery in Middlefield, where full military honors will be accorded. Family and friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 111 Founders Plaza, 2nd FL, East Hartford, CT 06108.
