Nash Cameron Stephens, 68, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on September 2, 2025. He was born on November 10, 1956, the son of the late Norman Cameron Stephens and the late Dorothy Edith Davis Stephens.
Nash leaves behind a legacy characterized by kindness, generosity, and intellect. An esteemed figure in the field of insurance sales, Nash dedicated his career to helping others while embodying a gentle demeanor that endeared him to clients and colleagues alike.
Known affectionately as "Papa Nash," he took immense pride in his family, finding joy in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. His nurturing spirit, and unwavering support played a crucial role in their lives, and he remained a source of inspiration throughout their journeys.
Beyond his professional success, Nash had a passion for inventing and immersing himself in various projects. His creativity manifested in his inventions, which he often spoke of with great pride. He also had a love for movies, frequently enjoying cinematic adventures that sparked his imagination. Additionally, his fondness for travel allowed him to explore diverse cultures and experiences, enriching his life and the stories he shared with his loved ones.
Nash was known as a quiet soul, coupling that with his sharp intellect, contributed to his legacy as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered not just for his career achievements but for the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him.
As we reflect on his remarkable life, we celebrate the joy he found in family, the pride he took in his work, and the gentleness with which he treated others.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Ida.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Cheryl Jackson Stephens; his daughter, Sarah Jacobus; his sons, Matthew Attaway, Derek Stephens, Michael Stephens, and David Stephens; his sisters, Margaret, Lynne, and Rachael; and his seven grandchildren, Elise Rich, Aidan Stephens, Kennedy Stephens, Brecken Stephens, Teal Stephens, Ethan Stephens, and Brynlee Stephens.
The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
Nash leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to inspire love and kindness in the lives he touched. His compassion and thoughtful nature are qualities that will echo in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
