Nathan B. Gearhart, age 50, passed away peacefully at UNMC Clarkson Tower on November 4, 2025, following a cardiac episode. Nathan was born May 8, 1975, to the late Dwylan and Pricilla (Turner) Gearhart in Council Bluffs, IA. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1993 and then attended IWCC. Nathan was a manager at Auto Zone at the time of his death. In addition to his parents, Nathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theil and Roberta (Kullbom) Turner, his aunts, Joan (Turner) Harrison, and Virginia (Turner) Putnam. Nathan is survived by his siblings, Lischka (Ruben) Higareda, Matthew Gearhart, Timothy (Sara Watt) Gearhart, his significant other, Jean Elkins, stepchildren, Ronin and Sophie, son, Owen, his nieces, and nephew, Andrew Gearhart, Breanna (David) Finley, Allison (Josh) Roussel, Jessica (Kyle) Coley, several cousins, plus great nieces and nephew. Nathan loved life and led a full one. He enjoyed tending to his chickens, playing with his children, watching them grow, gardening and the outdoors. Nathan was an Eagle Scout with Troop #8. He obtained this honor on 10-30-1988. He had been in Boy Scouts since the rank of Tiger Cub in 1979. Nathan was an Organ Donor and completed his "Hero Walk" on November 8, 2025, prior to being cremated.

Celebration of Nathan's Life will be held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Broadway United Methodist Church, 11 South First St. Inurnment Cedar Lawn Cemetery with a lunch following at the church. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Donations will be directed by his family.
