Nathan Halbrook Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 26, 2025.
Nathan Clark Halbrook, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2025, at the age of 50. Born on August 23, 1975, in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, Nate's life was a tapestry woven through various states, including time spent in New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Illinois and Florida. He was educated at Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, Vermont, where he enjoyed his passion for hockey, playing for the school's team. He went on to attend Quinnipiac University where he continued to excel in his hockey career playing for the school's Bobcats Hockey team. He graduated with a degree in communications.

Nate's adventurous spirit led him to Park City, Utah, where he lived the life of a "Ski Bum" for nearly a decade. However, his path led him to construction and residential real estate, where he established himself as a successful entrepreneur. Beyond his professional achievements, Nate's greatest joy came from raising and supporting his son, Cole Allen Halbrook. He was a steadfast advocate in Cole's hockey career and nurtured his interests with unwavering dedication. Nate had been a resident of Florida for the past 15 years.

Nate grew up in the Methodist church and he was known for his generous heart and compassionate nature, always seeking ways to uplift those around him. He was a person of creativity and empathy, and his life reflected the underpinnings of his faith.

Nate is survived by his loving son, Cole Allen Halbrook, and Cole's mother, Teea Vogelsong; parents, John and Bonnie Halbrook, his sister, Jennifer Stevenson and her husband Alan; and nieces, Olivia and Janie Stevenson.

A private memorial service to honor Nathan's life will be held in St. Augustine. Please contact a family member or email [email protected] for details. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Nate's memory to: stfrancisshelter.org/portinthestorm

Nathan Clark Halbrook will be deeply missed by all who knew him; his spirit, love, and commitment to family and community will forever remain in our hearts.
